Marta and Micó present a 'Reunion of friends' to the rhythm of bossa nova, bolero or fado

The atypical musical proposal by Marta and Micó arrives today at the New Fizz venue in Barcelona (9pm) with a very important reason: the presentation of their new album Encuentro de Amigos.

The Barcelona duo, who are releasing their fourth album with this one, is made up of Marta Boldú (vocals) and José María Micó (guitar and composition), and they define themselves as "a woman who sings and a man who writes".

And it is that the also poet Micó is the one who provides all the lyrics as well as the music composed to measure for each poem, offering a great variety of rhythms and genres, such as ballads, waltzes, tango, fado, ranchera, blues, bossa nova, bolero or rumba

The album presentation concerts -which appeared last month- are taking them to various stages in Spain and Mexico and in them they once again materialize a unique, intimate, brilliant and intensely emotional proposal. And that allows practically to ensure that it is a unique project in the song of author, an exquisite way of uniting music and poetry.

Not surprisingly, José María Micó is a poet, translator, musician and Professor of Literature at Pompeu Fabra University, and among many other works, he is the author of eight books of poetry. Marta Boldú, for her part, is a singer and philologist, and also the author of some of the lyrics of the duo. As a vocalist she is characterized by her expressiveness, an atypical timbre and a voice with suggestive muscle.

This Reunion of friends that they are presenting, there is a wide sound panorama: it is made up of ten songs of different genres: ballads (Reunion of friends), tango (Tarde, Harlequín), bossa nova (Una albada más), protest song (La viperina ), rumba (My rose without a reason) and some pathetic Coplas.

To these songs signed by Micó, we must add two texts by Boldú and a melody by Stefano Macrillò.

In any case, today's is a magnificent opportunity to hear and see on stage a couple about whom Joaquín Sabina sings on his album Memoria del aire: "Marta and Micó, the people I love, hats for my soul of poet".
