Make your own Advent wreath

The Advent wreath is a tradition of Christian origin that indicates the countdown of four weeks until Christmas. For many years now, most people have decorated their homes with these wreaths during the holidays. So let's explain how to build one step by step.

There are several methods and materials, depending on each person's creativity and what we have at our disposal to make it. In addition, on the Internet and on social networks you can also find many tutorials that can help us.

As we can see in these images that Isaura Marcos shared in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos, these wreaths are made mainly of pine or fir branches, with four or sometimes five candles.

It begins on the first Sunday of Advent, when the first candle is lit. Then, over the next three weeks, the rest of the candles are lit until, in the week before Christmas, all four candles are lit. Some Advent wreaths have a fifth candle, the Christ candle, which is lit only on Christmas Day.

To start your wreath, you have to have some essential materials at your disposal, but it can also depend on what we can get or have at our disposal. Above all, creativity counts.

In this case, we propose this version of the Advent wreath with these materials: Foam foam, four pine cones, twelve small red apples, eight pieces of cinnamon sticks, four or five candles, 40 green twigs, three pine branches natural, two meters of wide fabric ribbon with Scottish motifs, raffia, scissors and, finally, green florist wires.

The first step is to take the foam and give it a round shape, adapting it to the size you want your Advent Wreath.

Next, take the green twigs and stick them all around the foam. Then you have to nail the three natural pine branches inside the center.

Once done, insert the green wire into each of the apples, try to enter from one side and exit from the other, so that you can grab the wire from both sides. Next, take the cinnamon stick and tie it in groups of four with the raffia.

Next, pass a piece of wire behind the raffia, so you can nail it to the Advent Wreath. Once this step is finished, he takes more green wires and sticks two of them into each pineapple, so he can stick it into the foam.

For each pineapple, put three apples around it, nailed to the foam and do the same with the cinnamon packets.

Next, take the Scotch tape and place it around the entire foam. Start from the inside, and use the wires to help the tape stay stuck.

Finally, insert the candles next to each of the pine cones and you will have your Advent Wreath finished.
