López Miras and Mazón demand a debate on the financing of the autonomies

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, have demanded from the Government of Spain a debate on the financing of the communities and "equity between the autonomous communities" because, according to the presidents , both regions face two struggles: "Underfinancing and water."

The presidents of the regions have shared a dialogue at the I 'Meeting between leaders' organized by OKDiario, in which they have debated the underfinancing of the Autonomous Communities and the water problem that affects them.

"We do not claim privileges, we demand equity after doing our duties," Mazón stressed in terms of water. For the president, both the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community have "correctly" managed the reuse of water and the creation and improvement of infrastructures", so after "doing their homework", they demand that the Executive "seek a national water plan" for "the correct management of resources."

"It is not understood that while some communities take water restriction measures, others have to open the transfer gates because they cannot store more water," stated, for his part, the president of Murcia. "There is enough water, but there is poor management on the part of the Government," he stressed, while demanding that the Executive convene all the communities to "talk and seek a national water plan", because water "is our responsibility." all by constitution, not to the territories through which the rivers pass," he stressed.

Regarding the candidacy for the European elections of the Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, López Miras has celebrated "her departure", because, as he lamented, "she is the minister who has made the most cuts in water matters in the history of Spain". Likewise, she has warned that she is concerned about the arrival of "these policies in Europe."

In terms of regional financing and health responsibilities of the autonomous communities, the other major issue of dialogue between the two presidents, López Miras has asked for greater financing and economic support for, for example, health. "In the community we have reduced the waiting lists for 'priority I' care by 66%, but he has reiterated that "there is no health equity in Spain" that his region "needs the resources" that, according to López Miras, "are theirs." ".

For his part, Mazón has assured that "the lack of funding for Health from the Sánchez Government" will force them to "ask for investment" in order to "be able to reduce waiting lists.

In the context of the results of the Basque elections, both leaders have advocated for education as "a tool so that we do not forget a gang --ETA-- that killed and murdered many Spaniards," and so that new generations "understand what it meant in the history of the country".

Furthermore, López Miras, for his part, has denied that he defends the illegality of EH Bildu, "because it is not part of the constitutional values", although he has assured that "if Sánchez is included using the first person, it is because it is part of the independentists who want to divide Spain", in responses to the statements of the President of the Government this morning, in which he stated that "90% of Basques have voted for us".

Before concluding, both presidents have assured that they hope to "achieve better education, a reduction in waiting lists and the creation of the Mediterranean corridor", an aspect that they consider "fundamental" to be connected with Europe because "Valencia is the port of Spain", they have sentenced.
