Lavapiés remains the focus of fights between foreigners: three injured in another fight

Nelson Mandela Square in Lavapiés has become the scene of a new brawl. This night there was a new fight, which ended with three injured and one person arrested, reports Telemadrid.

As a result of the fight, two people had to be treated by emergency services at the same scene and were discharged, while a third person was taken to a hospital.

The police have arrested a man who has been taken to the Leganitos police station to give a statement.

Precisely, yesterday the acting mayor of Madrid, Inmaculada Sanz, charged against "the deeply irresponsible attitudes" of the left-wing parties "that are trying to set fire to the Lavapiés neighborhood again" and showed her support for the National Police in the interventions "so complex" that they have had to do lately, even with some injured officers.

In statements to the media, Sanz expressed his concern about "the campaign that some are trying to carry out with the Lavapiés neighborhood."

"We already saw how during the mandate of Manuela Carmena that neighborhood burned down with deeply irresponsible attitudes of some political leaders who what they are doing is putting the National Police or the Municipal Police on top of their actions towards the population," he stated.

After ensuring that the Government team of the Madrid City Council will always be supporting the police authority that is having "complex" interventions in that neighborhood, Sanz wanted to send "a strong message in the sense that no type of criminal attitude nor that there could be support for criminal attitudes in any neighborhood of the city of Madrid".

The acting mayor once again showed her support for the National Police in "the very complex interventions they have had to carry out lately, even with some injured officers", sending them "all the support and all the affection of the Madrid City Council."
