Kiss sells its catalog, name and image for more than 275 million

The American rock band Kiss has sold its musical catalog, intellectual property and name to the Swedish company Pophouse Entertainment Group for approximately 276 million euros, as reported by the Associated Press (AP). It is not the first time that Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, as well as guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer of Kiss have associated with Pophouse, and in that sense Simmons has assured that he does not like the word "acquisition" and that "never "They would sell their work to a company they don't appreciate, in an interview with AP.

In fact, during the last concert the band gave in December of last year at Madison Square Garden in New York, Kiss announced that, together with the company, they had made digitized avatars of themselves, which will be used for a probable film, documentary or an experience about which Pophouse has not elaborated further.

In that sense, the sale of the catalog and its image is with the intention of "exposing" Kiss to younger generations, as explained by the general director of Pophouse, Per Sundin. "This is exactly a collaboration. It would be remiss in our perceived fiduciary duty to abandon what we created. People might misinterpret that and think, 'Okay, now Pophouse is doing that stuff and we're sitting in Beverly Hills with our arms crossed.' That's not true." It's true," Simmons explained according to AP, while ensuring that the group will not return to the stage.
