With the month of May comes the Maresme Strawberry Season, the time when this red fruit has the best flavor, the brightest color and the most intense aroma. It is one of the symbols of the region, one of the star gastronomic products that manages to be present in all kinds of dishes: from the sweetest to the savouriest, from starters to desserts, accompanied with 'sea i de munt' products. and paired with wine or sparkling wines from the DO Alella. These combinations result in the Maresme flavors.
The strawberry gastronomic days are held from April 29 to May 28 and 17 municipalities participate: Arenys de Mar, Arenys de Munt, Argentona, Caldes d'Estrac, Calella, Canet de Mar, Malgrat de Mar, Mataró, Palafolls, Pineda de Mar, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, Sant Cebrià de Vallalta, Sant Iscle de Vallalta, Sant Pol de Mar, Tiana, Vilassar de Dalt and Vilassar de Mar.
