Israel does not authorize the movement of its team abroad due to the war conflict

The qualifying match for Euro 2024 between Kosovo and Israel, scheduled for Sunday, October 15, has been suspended as the Israeli government did not authorize the movement of its team abroad due to the war conflict, UEFA has announced.

The new date of the match, which was to be played in Pristina, the Kosovo capital, will be announced "in due course", according to UEFA. The Israeli team occupies third place in Group I with six rounds played, one point behind Romania and three behind the leader, Switzerland.

It is not the first Israel match that has been postponed since the Hebrew team was supposed to play this Thursday against Switzerland. The match was scheduled to be played in Tel Aviv and UEFA has already postponed it until November 15 at a venue to be determined.

Israel has been in a state of war since last Saturday after the incursion from Gaza by heavily armed Hamas militiamen who attacked several towns near the strip. So far 1,300 deaths have been recorded in Israeli territory, according to medical sources cited today by the local press. The number of injured people hospitalized in the country is 3,268.

The bombings by the Israeli Armed Forces have caused at least 1,200 deaths in Gaza and 5,700 injuries of various degrees, reported the Gaza Ministry of Health.
