One more day getting on a train in Catalonia is once again an ordeal. Rodalies users once again have to regret incidents on several lines, as well as high-speed passengers between Madrid and Barcelona, in this case with traffic interrupted.
Since 7:00 a.m., a breakdown in Arc de Triomf on lines R1, R3, R4 and medium-distance trains announced by Adif on Sunday night persists, causing delays of an average of 20 minutes, although some users complained about the networks that they had waited up to 50 minutes. The incident causes a limitation of operational capacity in the Plaça Catalunya tunnel, forcing the trains to "be stopped longer than usual as they reach the affected point," Rodalies explained while apologizing.
The trains of these lines undergo selective detours through the Passeig de Gràcia station from 12:00 p.m., and they are expected to last approximately one hour.
The TGV between Madrid and Barcelona has also been affected by an incident in Les Borges Blanques that has forced the service between Lleida and Tarragona to be interrupted, causing delays of almost an hour. "Adif staff are working to solve this incident as soon as possible," the company communicated through social networks. Minutes later, traffic resumed, although with delays as it passed through Les Borges.
Train circulation was able to resume around 9:28 a.m. on a single track, and around 9:50 a.m. in both directions. The incident, whose causes are still unknown, has affected a total of 12 trains on the high-speed line, both Renfe, Ouigo and Iryo. Through
Line R3 also suffered another incident early in the morning when a train was stopped in Parets del Vallès. Some witnesses even commented online that a small explosion was heard and that there was a burning smell. From Rodalies they have detailed that the train has broken down and has been removed.
