Antoine Griezmann is already owned by Atlético. The Frenchman no longer belongs to Barcelona. The Blaugrana club, which bought it in 2019 for 120 million precisely from the rojiblancos, has ended up selling it for 20 plus four in variables, as the newspaper La Vanguardia reported on Wednesday.
The agreement was signed yesterday between the two entities. One of the payments for objectives will be made effective if Atlético gets into the knockout stages of the Champions League. In addition, in the event that the mattresses sell the 31-year-old player, Barça will receive the remaining part until reaching 40 million in which the mandatory purchase option was stipulated in 2021 if Griezmann played 50% of matches with Atlético in the two loan seasons.
The world champion closes his stage at the Camp Nou with 102 games in which he scored 34 goals. Barcelona, who only won one Copa del Rey with the Frenchman, saves the striker's high record, because he still had a contract until 2024 and at the end of this season he could end up returning.
Now Simeone will be able to freely dispose of Griezmann, who this season had only started and played more than 30 minutes in two of the ten games played, the most important, against Madrid and Bruges. Therefore, this Saturday he could already be a starter against Girona.
The French international will commit to his new contract until 2026. The agreement has already been reached by the three parties, which is expected to be official next week.
