Google has already launched its new offices in Barcelona, located at the confluence of Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes with Aribau street, next to Plaza de la Universitat. This is the space occupied by the historic horchatería La Valenciana, which in recent decades had occupied a bank office.

In the new facilities, in which some 40 people work and from where the technology company wants to promote its alliance with the ecosystem of Catalan start-ups and play a leading role in the transition towards a more digital economy and society.

Google landed in Spain in 2003 and the new office is a boost to its collaboration with public administrations and the productive fabric. "Our objective is to generate an impact in Catalonia, strengthen relationships and collaborate to promote the growth and internationalization of the Catalan technological economy," said the firm's director of public and institutional affairs, Miguel Escassi, during the inauguration of the facilities.

Among Google's clients, companies such as Mango stand out, one of the leaders in the fashion sector, which has relied on technology to promote its omnichannel strategy and reach its digital audiences more effectively.

In a statement, Google has assured that its commitment to Barcelona is not limited only to the business fabric and will focus on helping the tourism sector in its digital transition, which accounts for 12% of GDP in the Catalan capital.

The company has also highlighted that Barcelona will benefit from a fund of one million euros for projects aimed at mitigating the climate emergency and will receive aid to deepen the formation of society.
