From Ana Boyer to Rocío Carrasco: the 14 contestants of 'Bake off: famous people in the oven'

Bake off: famous in the oven, which would become a MasterChef of desserts, arrives tonight on RTVE's La 1 after two previous experiences: on Cuatro, with Jesús Vázquez at the helm in 2019, and on Amazon Prime Video with Paula Vázquez and Brays Efe as hosts in 2021. The public network has acquired the rights to this culinary talent based on the British format The Great British Bake Off and has scheduled it just in the quarter in which no version of MasterChef is broadcast, probably with the intention of keeping that audience loyal to the gastronomic contests.

The debut of the format on the public network will feature a group of contestants that has nothing to envy of those on MasterChef Celebrity. From Rocío Carrasco, Terelu Campos or Alba Carrillo (faces linked until very recently to Telecinco) to three pairs of siblings: Ana Boyer and Julio Iglesias Jr, the Salazar sisters from Azúcar Moreno and the former soccer players Julio and Patxi Salinas. A total of fourteen celebrities who will fight to become the best pastry chef and win a prize that they will donate to the NGO of their choice.

The main competition of Bake off: famous in the oven will curiously be GH Duo on Telecinco. That is, another version of the Big Brother format as happened the previous quarter, when MasterChef faced GH VIP and managed to win in terms of viewers. A duel that will now be repeated with similar weapons and that could be decisive in reaching second place in the monthly audience ranking in which La 1 and Telecinco are involved since Antena 3 has consolidated its leadership without seeing its position in danger for now. . In the battle on Thursday nights, Antena 3 opts for the premiere of a new series of its own production: Entre tierras.

Among the celebrities who participate in Bake off, Ana Boyer stands out in what marks her television debut. She recorded the show during her first months of pregnancy (she is currently five months pregnant). Ana Boyer explained during the presentation of the program that combining the recordings with her condition had meant that she was able to rest less than desired but that, fortunately, “the smells of pastries, at least, I think are more pleasant and less strong than the best in the kitchen.”

She admitted that, in a certain way, she had been the darling of the edition, when referring to the treatment of all her colleagues: “Everyone has taken great care of me and I have been feeling well. So as far as possible I can't complain either.” And regarding the fact of sharing this experience with her brother, she described it as “very fun because we have a very good relationship,” although she warned that Julio “doesn't know anything about baking and cooking.”

In this new edition, Paula Vázquez repeats as presenter, who praised the casting, which she described as “really hilarious.” Regarding the mechanics of the contest, applicants will have to overcome two culinary challenges in each installment that will be submitted to the judgment of a jury made up of chef Paco Roncero; the pastry chef Eva Arguiñano and the pastry chef Damián Betular.

First television appearance of Isabel Preysler's daughter following in the footsteps of her sister Tamara Falcó in 'MasterChef Celebrity'. She is currently pregnant with her third child.

Ana Boyer will have the support (or competition) of her brother. The singer has participated in programs such as 'Look who's dancing!' (2007) and 'Your face sounds to me' (2011).

Before the program aired, Rocío Jurado's daughter has already become the protagonist with the spectacular fall she had during filming and which can already be seen in the trailer.
