Four tourists arrested in Reus for attacking a taxi driver after canceling the trip

This Monday morning, the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested four English tourists accused of attacking a taxi driver in Barcelona, after having contracted his service and then exchanging it for a VTC car. As Mossos sources have confirmed to Europa Press, the attackers have left the victim with injuries to one knee.

The events occurred at seven thirty in the morning at the door of a hotel on Rambla del Raval. Apparently, those arrested had hired the service of a conventional taxi to take them to the Baix Camp airport, where they had to catch a plane. However, when the taxi driver went to pick them up, he saw that the tourists were loading his luggage into an Uber-type car.

Consequently, the taxi driver has expressed his disagreement by placing himself in front of the vehicle that the arrested persons had hired alternatively. Finally, the situation ended in an argument between both parties that led to the attack on the taxi driver by the four tourists.

Then, the accused left for Reus with the VTC car, leaving the injured man at the scene. The Mossos have indicated to ACN that it was the taxi driver himself who alerted 112 and that a Barcelona Urban Police patrol went to where the man was.

There, the victim told what happened to the agents, who, in turn, informed the Catalan police to mobilize a patrol towards Reus. Likewise, police sources have confirmed that the Mossos d'Esquadra have already arrested the accused near the Reus airport for a crime of injuries.
