Flamenco can be seen in the Cubelles wetland

In the Cubelles wetland, in the Garraf region, one can always find a pleasant surprise, like this beautiful specimen of flamenco that I have portrayed for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.

It is a very rare species in this place. Suddenly, she landed, she was seen for a few minutes... she took flight and disappeared. I was lucky to be there and take the photo.

Nature continues its course in the River Foix, at its mouth in Cubelles, where it forms a small delta, increasingly populated and visited by species of animals, especially waterfowl.

The Foix river has a low flow and flows into a small delta on the Cubelles beach. It only carries a larger volume of water when torrential rains occur in spring and especially in autumn.

It is also true that in the area of the river near Castellet i Gornal there is a dam that retains most of the flow of water that passes through this river. This dam is used exclusively to store water and not to get electricity as in many others.

In summer it is a good time to observe the flamingos. The Greater Flamingo is possibly the most spectacular of all the aquatic birds that inhabit the wetlands, since it stands out for its remarkable size and its peculiar appearance of slim silhouette.
