Five men murder their partners in the last seven days and three turn themselves in

The last week ended with three women murdered by sexist violence and several in serious condition after being attacked by their partners or ex-partners. And this week just begun, he has done the same with another 53-year-old woman murdered in her house in Alcalá de Henares, by a 25-year-old friend, who notified the police of the crime. Last night the police were investigating whether, as some acquaintances had said, both had a sporadic relationship.

The previous case happened this weekend in Pamplona. A 51-year-old man of Chinese nationality turned himself in to the Municipal Police after murdering his partner, a 47-year-old woman of the same nationality, in the bar in the city they ran. The woman's children gave a statement to the police and confirmed that the attacker lived with his mother and that they had a romantic relationship, as well as being partners in the bar.

If the sentimental relationship between the victim and the aggressor from Alcalá de Henares is confirmed, it would be the 26th fatality due to sexist violence so far this year; and 1,209 since 2003, the year in which the murders began to be officially counted.

The Government Delegation for Gender Violence has not updated its statistics with these two new crimes. But yesterday he did confirm two other sexist crimes that were known only a few days ago. One happened in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat on June 20. The 35-year-old victim had a young son. Her partner threw her out the window. And although the woman herself died two days later, it was not until the following week that the man appeared in court to confess to the crime.

The other recent confirmed case is that of a 36-year-old woman who died on June 29 from injuries caused by her partner the day before in Móstoles, Madrid. Her 47-year-old man stabbed her and fled from her, although he was later arrested. The victim also had a minor son and had previously denounced her attacker. In fact, the woman slept with a knife under her pillow in the rented room. In this case, the woman had filed numerous complaints and had a restraining order that she herself asked to be lifted.

With these last two minors there are already 25 girls and boys who this year have been orphaned by sexist violence.

The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 30-year-old man on Sunday night for the violent death of a woman in a hotel in Salou. The couple, of Irish nationality, were on holiday.

On Sunday, the National Police released the man arrested the day before in Burgos for the death by hanging of his partner on charges of gender violence. The autopsy determined that the cause of death was "compatible with suicide by hanging." The man has a history of gender violence against a previous partner.

In addition to the last five murdered, two other women remain in serious condition due to injuries suffered at the hands of their partners or ex-partners. In Malaga, a woman is still in serious condition after her ex-partner shot her with a firearm on June 27. A day later, a man threw his partner off the balcony in the Valencian town of Xirivella. The woman was transferred to a health center but her life was not in danger. The man had a restraining order.

It's hard to concentrate so much horror in so few lines without using a single adjective.
