Feijóo will put pressure on the PSOE barons so that Sánchez facilitates his investiture if he wins

Alberto Núñez Feijóo turned the presentation of his electoral program on Tuesday into a rehearsal of what his investiture speech could be if he won the elections. And he did it both in the background of his intervention and in the staging. In front of the flag of Spain and the flag of Europe, with a large photo of the entrance to the Palacio de La Moncloa behind, and with a slogan: "A project at the service of a great country".

In the presence of representatives of trade unions, businessmen, social associations, former ministers, and former leaders of the PP who have helped him prepare the program, Alberto Núñez Feijóo made more of a proclamation of intentions than listing the measures of his program, the content of which, in general lines, he left in the hands of his number two, Cuca Gamarra. And in that declaration of intent, Feijóo, who is committed to a "quiet change", made it clear that he wants to govern to "correct the errors of the current government", but also that "repeal sanchismo, but I do not want revenge of any kind". , that "I want to win Sánchez but not take revenge" and that he wants "a fair government but not revenge and a serene government, but not vengeful."

And to do so, the president of the PP wants a large majority, so that the minorities do not impose themselves on the majorities, as has happened in recent years, and for this reason he announced that after the elections he will call on the leader of the PSOE, "whoever he is ", to ask him to facilitate his investiture" without having to use Vox who he did not mention, and if he does not get that support, he will call, he said, all the barons of the PSOE, "so they can convince him." All before depending on other parties. Its claim is to "hear the minority", but with the conviction that "the majority cannot allow itself to be kidnapped by the minority".

The leader of the PP rejects "the vendetta, the sectarianisms and the egos", which, he said, "I intend for them to go with the current president", because, he stressed, "I have not come this far to go against anyone, but rather I want to be president of all Spaniards, and intends, as president, "to return to Spain the dignity that it has lost in these five years" and in this task he assures that "I will seek to find the PSOE that it was" and that "hopefully it will return after Sánchez" with "the same sense of status that I had before."

What he offers is "a serene alternative that the majority of Spaniards demand", leaving aside "the block policy that has divided us", for which he insists, as he has said since he was elected president of the PP, " My career supports me."

His policy, Feijóo said, will be that of grand agreements, and he will try state pacts with other parties and with social agents. Great agreements that he wants to have to "shield" public health, an agreement for educational quality, an agreement to "reveal ourselves in the face of the fact that young people do not have to live like their parents", an agreement to improve productivity, an agreement to tackle "the demographic tragedy", an agreement to deal with the priority that climate change will be for him.

The president of the PP summed up his intentions in one sentence: "Change Spain with less fanfare and more measures" and have ministers "with a lot of preparation and zero sectarianism." And that will also apply to his policies, and to give a graphic example, he summed it up in three cases: "I do not share insulting Amancio Ortega, but I am not going to pay for the cinema with Spanish taxes; I do not share insulting Juan Roig but not I see it reasonable to pay him for the commuter train. I think footballers are good, but it doesn't seem logical to me to give him 20,000 euros to start a business". Another example: "There will not be a Tezanos in my government, and the dismissal of him will be the first in the Council of Ministers."

At his side, he stressed, there will be no place for anyone who does not believe in Europe, in NATO, in the policy of aid to Ukraine or in national sovereignty, and he promised to appear periodically to explain in Congress the priorities in foreign policy and the role of Spain in the international order, especially while the war in Ukraine lasts and "reveal the unexplained reasons for the turn in the Sahara question".

The general lines of the program were in charge of enumerating them by the general secretary of the PP. Feijóo limited himself to emphasizing that he will recover the crime of sedition, and will classify the illegal referendum as a crime, as well as the increase in penalties for embezzlement. In another area, Feijóo is committed to "guaranteeing knowledge of the Spanish languages in all schools." Measures, he acknowledged, "that will contradict the independence movement, but that the citizens are waiting for them."

Gamarra, who has directed the preparation of the program together with Carmen Fúnez and Esteban González Pons, among others, made his entrance into the Casa de América, where the event was held, together with Feijóo, the two of them alone, thus fueling speculation that Cuca Gamarra could be his vice president in a hypothetical government, since it fits with the clues that the PP leader has been revealing, political, well-known, with management experience, but who has not been in the government of Spain. She has been mayor of Logroño.

Gamarra listed the five purposes of this program: sustainable growth, caring and protecting, regenerating, serving, and leading and influencing.
