Enrique denounces in a new documentary the "lack of support" after the death of his mother

There is no truce at the Windsor house. The front opened by Prince Enrique with his family does not seem to be resolved. Quite the opposite. In the new documentary produced by the Duke of Sussex and just released on Netflix, Heart of Invictus, he once again attacks members of the British royal family. Although the production, of five chapters, addresses the monitoring of six competitors in the latest edition of the Invictus Games, one of Enrique's most personal projects, the youngest son of King Carlos makes some reflections that do not leave his family in a good place .

The Invictus Games were born in 2014 with the aim that military veterans of the armed forces and war wounded can participate in a competition adapted for them. Enrique, who feels closely linked to this group since he was a member of the armed forces on a mission in Afghanistan, reflects on that stage in the documentary. “When I was in Afghanistan in 2012 to fly a helicopter, something inside of me fell apart,” he recounts.

Returning to the UK made things worse. “Nobody around me could really help me. I didn't have that support structure, that network, or that expert advice to identify what was really going on with me,” she continues.

At that moment, he realized that the origin of his problem was the death of his mother, Diana de Gales, who died on August 31, 1997, when he was 12 years old. “I lost my mother when I was young and it was a trauma she was unaware of,” he recalls.

He adds: "Unfortunately, like most of us, the first time you consider therapy is when you're lying on the floor in a fetal position, probably wishing you had dealt with any of this before."
