Eight companies from the TecnoCampus will attend the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress

Eight companies based in the TecnoCampus will participate in the benchmark innovation event 4YFN that is held within the framework of the Mobile World Congress between February 27 and March 2.

The selected technology companies have mainly focused on the fields of financial technologies, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IOT), Big Data, mobile telephony, health and information and communication technology (ICT). .

All of them -Biel Glasses, Cactus, Cocopool, Coresys Health, Eholo, Flappin, Winahost and Wipass- will enjoy a space at the TecnoCampus stand on March 1 and 2 to exhibit their innovations, giving them the opportunity to connect with international investors and Find partners and customers.

"For us, going to the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress is a great opportunity, it allows us to make our company visible, contact interested investors and collaborate with professionals in the field of technology and, in our case, Artificial Intelligence", explains Sonia Torras, co-CEO of eHolo.

The latest technological advances that have been discovered and applied in the field of health have focused on improving the quality of life of the patient. However, on few occasions the figure of the health professional has been taken into account.

This concern for the expert is where eHolo intervenes, a start-up created by Sonia Torras, General Health Psychologist, and Eduard Martí, Industrial Engineer. “The objective of our company is to take care of the psychology professional so that they can care for their patients in the best possible way”, states Torras.

The company that was founded in February 2022 began with the idea of creating software that would allow potential patients to be connected with psychologists. “But we realized that psychology professionals did not need more patients, but rather have better tools to care for those they already had,” says Martí.

As a result of this discovery, they decided to change their product from a marketplace to a SaaS that facilitates all aspects of their work for psychology professionals, from the administrative part -scheduling and billing- to the clinical aspects -medical records and informed consent-.

"Regarding the commercial volume of our company, we have subscribed a total of 150 centers and 90 freelance psychologists," says Eduard Martí. To which he adds: "According to the data we have between registered and free users, we have a weekly traffic volume of 3,000 users."

Regarding eHolo's future plans, Sonia Torras comments that "we are evaluating the possibility of expanding to the Anglo-Saxon market, especially the United Kingdom and the United States, two countries in which psychology is highly relevant."

"From our participation in the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress, we hope to contact investors who are interested in investing in our brand to be able to export it outside of Spain", concludes the co-CEO and computer engineer, Eduard Martí.

In the last two decades, a wide variety of different marketplaces have been developing where people can buy, sell or rent a wide variety of products from clothes to cars or apartments. Among the best known we find eBay, Airbnb or Alliexpress.

Since March 2022, swimming pools have been included in this great market. At that time, Gerard Xalabardé, a former TecnoCampus student, founded Cocopool. A marketplace with which you can rent these spaces to enjoy them with your family or groups of friends for a certain time.

"I created this company to help those owners who had to continue keeping their pools private despite the fact that they use them very rarely during the year," explains Xalabardé. And he adds: "I started this business because I knew the market well, since my family has been dedicated to the sale and manufacture of chemical products for swimming pools for more than thirty years."

The process that follows is like that of most marketplaces. The owner of the pool registers and fills out a form about the pool that includes aspects such as a description, a regulation or the hours in which the space can be used and the announcement is made public.

“Customers select through our website the announcement that interests them and send a request to the owner who will decide if it is accepted. Once accepted, the client makes the payment and receives by mail the location and contact of the person who rents his pool to agree on all the details”, explains the CEO of Cocopool.

The company currently has approximately 150 swimming pools available for rent and last summer they managed a commercial volume of 300 monthly users. Likewise, it collaborates with 35 stores dedicated to the sale of swimming pool materials to guarantee the quality of the water.

“Our future plans include consolidating in Spain, seasonally adjusting the business; expand into the European market, starting with Portugal, France and Italy, since we share commercial ties that make it easier for us to approach these three countries”, states Xalabardé.

"At Cocopool, we hope that our appearance at the Mobile World Congress will allow us to contact investors who are interested in our project, both to invest and to help us scale it up," says Xalabardé.

In recent years, one of the main gifts is carrying out experiences with companies such as Smartbox or Wonderbox. But gift boxes can present some problems for the person who receives it: obstacles to be able to exchange the gift, accommodation or activities that do not exist and the impossibility of carrying out the experience on the desired day. To solve these problems, Flappin was created.

The company, which was founded in May 2021 by four partners, including Pol Clavell and Marc Teixidor, digitized the business model, making its final product have some differential characteristics compared to the services of the large companies in this market.

“We differ from our competitors in two ways. On the one hand, the experiences can be made by the client who buys the package. On the other hand, if we are talking about a gift, the client will not have any type of limitation since it works as if it were a reservation: you simply enter the gift code and Flappin' is in charge of planning the entire experience, from the flights, the accommodation, activity or restaurant,” explains Pol Clavell, one of the company's four CEOs.

Among the different packages offered by Flappin we find surprise experiences, surprise getaways and surprise trips. In mid-April Flappin' will begin its expansion throughout Europe, disembarking in Italy and Portugal.

"In the short and medium term, we have the objective of consolidating ourselves in Spain and expanding throughout Europe", announces Marc Teixidor. And he adds: "In the long term we would like to become the number one platform in Europe and expand into other markets such as the United States and Asia, but there is still a long way to go and for now we prefer to consolidate, there will be time to move."

One of the most notable facts about Flappin is that during its only round of financing, which was the pre-seed, it managed to raise around €400,000. "The money that was contributed by investors has allowed us to grow in Spain, retain and attract talent, improve the product and technology," explains Clavell. They have announced that they started the seed round last week.

Regarding their participation in the 4YFN of the Mobile World Congress, both founders have indicated that they hope to be able to contact investors who will help them by contributing both capital and providing contacts or ideas to improve their technology.

"Going to Mobile will allow us to position our brand in one of the most important events in the technological and startup field, a situation unthinkable without the collaboration of TecnoCampus", concludes Pol Clavell.
