Drizzle is appreciated in times of drought

In the absence of rain, drizzle is good, that small rain that falls softly and that, although it does not fill swamps or make rivers grow, at least soaks the trees and the earth.

This is how the Garrotxa region, for example in the Vall d'en Bas, is experiencing the persistent drought in better conditions than other forested areas of Catalonia.

This is demonstrated by this series of photographs in La Vanguardia Readers' Photos captured from Sant Miquel de Castelló and in which you can see the landscape moistened by fog and the timid, but grateful, drizzle.

Sant Miquel de Castelló is a hermitage built on a buttress of the Serrat de Sant Miquel, within the Serra dels Llancers, in the northeast of the Collsacabra massif.

The municipality of Vall d'en Bas has a landscape marked by chestnut trees, oaks, holm oaks and beech trees, but what stands out, especially in spring, is the colorful fields.

The Vall d'en Bas has two centers cataloged as historical-artistic ensembles: the villa del Mallol, located on a hill, and the center of Hostalets d'en Bas, which has its origins in hostels located at the foot of the old real road that went from Olot to Vic.

The Vall d'en Bas shines at the head of the Fluvià river, surrounded by the mountains of Corb, Sant Miquel, Llancers and Puigsacalm (1515 m).

Crossed by a multitude of rivers and streams that pour their waters into the Fluvià River, it has one of the most fertile soils in all of Catalonia, as can be seen in these images. Even in times of drought. Thanks, among other things, to the drizzle. It is even an ideal place to find mushrooms.
