Delays in Rodalies due to protest actions by train drivers one day before the strike

Various lines of Rodalies, the Renfe Cercanías service, have suffered some delays this morning due to the protest actions of some train drivers who have not shown up for work on their shift.

Renfe sources have assured EFE that these actions, prior to the strike called tomorrow by the Renfe and Adif unions against the transfer of Rodalies to the Generalitat, have caused some effects on the service. Thus, the effects of tomorrow's strike have already begun to be felt this morning, although Renfe sources have not been able to quantify for now the incidents caused by these protest actions.

The General Company Committees of Renfe and Adif (SEMAF, CCOO, UGT, SCF, CGT and SF) maintain the call for five days of strike in both public companies that will begin tomorrow as there is no progress in the negotiations and in the face of "the passivity" of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.

After Friday, the strike will continue on November 30 and December 1, 4 and 5, the latter coinciding with the Constitution long weekend, as a sign of rejection of the transfers implying the segregation of Adif and Renfe, and the privatization of the company Renfe Mercancías.

Numerous users have reported this Thursday to social networks that there were more incidents than usual in the service and have accused Renfe and Adif workers of carrying out a "covert strike." ACN sources close to the operation have admitted these incidents and that they could be “prior actions” to the strike that begins m

Renfe is going to cancel a total of 1,548 long and medium distance commercial trains, including AVE, during the five days of strike. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility still maintains open negotiations with the unions to try to avoid these strikes, which will also occur in Adif.
