The English band Coldplay has announced a tenth concert at the River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires, surpassing the record reached in 2012 by Roger Waters, former leader of Pink Floyd. In a video published on social networks, the group's vocalist, Chris Martin, confirmed that they will say goodbye to the Argentine capital with a tenth concert on November 8.
With this tenth date, Coldplay will become the band with the most consecutive concerts at the River Plate stadium, surpassing the record set by Roger Waters in 2012 (nine concerts) and well ahead of the band Soda Stereo in 2007 (six) and of the Rolling Stones in 1995 (five). "We can announce today our final concert number ten in River Plate. It's incredible, we are very grateful," said the singer, in Spanish.
The alternative rock band will play at the Monumental stadium between October 25 and November 8, as part of its Music of the Spheres Tour, and so far it has sold more than half a million tickets in Argentina and another 3.2 millions around the world. On June 5, he was in New Jersey, where he shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen.
During their visit to the Buenos Aires capital, Coldplay will present their ninth work, Music of the Spheres, whose single Higher Power was reproduced for the first time from the International Space Station by French astronaut Thomas Pesquet.
