King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla of the United Kingdom attended an honorary dinner tonight in the luxurious Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. They did so accompanied by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, who is hosting the three-day state visit of the British monarchs to France.
This Wednesday, Carlos III and Camilla were received by the French Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne. Next, in a Bentley specially brought from the United Kingdom, they traveled to the Champs-Élysées, where the French president and his wife, Brigitte Macron, were waiting for them.
Continuing with the planned route, the four protagonists headed to the Elysée Palace. At the headquarters of the French Presidency, the two heads of state held a personal interview to later attend the grand dinner in Versailles. Actors such as Hugh Grant, writer Ken Follett and rocker Mick Jagger also attended the evening.
The state visit will continue this Thursday. Charles III is scheduled to give a speech before the French Senate and visit the restoration works of Notre Dame Cathedral, among other activities. For her part, Queen Camilla will launch a Franco-British literary prize together with Brigitte Macron and they will visit "La Maison des Femmes" in Saint-Denis.
The last day of the state visit of the British monarchs will be on Friday and will take place in Bordeaux, where they plan to visit an organic winery.
