Catalonia: from the industrial colony to the digital economy

Mobile World Capital Barcelona always looks for a common thread to the products that it transfers to its exhibition space within the congress to show the evolution of the local sector. In this case, in its stand located in pavilion 6, it has united the history and innovative tradition of Barcelona with the present and the future, putting people and sustainability at the center. The philosophy is linked to the change of direction that the foundation has made, with a new strategic plan approved last year.

This evolution will be made visible through a historical tour that will take the visitor to the MWCapital stand from the past to the future through the present, focusing on the sectors that have generated important changes in the local industry and economy. The look at the past is visualized through a portable battery, a radiator, a memory card and a loom as vestiges of the first industrial revolutions, which brought great changes on a social, economic and cultural scale.

The transition from the past to the future is made through the present through an immersive experience that offers a sensory journey through the four great industrial revolutions and provides a three-dimensional journey through time.

And the future is visualized through four experiences of sectors in which Barcelona is a leading city: health, mobility, textiles and energy. All of them are born from collaborations with relevant actors in the Catalan capital: the health one is a digital twin prototype made with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, the energy one shows in an informative way the energy charging modalities with Wallbox, the textile allows for the design of pieces of unique clothing with Desigual and the automotive industry is played with a simulator that allows you to get behind the wheel of a Hispano Swiss.

Congressmen will be able to learn about these different experiences during the four days of the MWC, and citizens will have access to all of this at the Tech technology festival
