Calella and Pineda claim to improve safety on the N-II and C-32 to avoid accidents with wild boars

The mayors of Calella, Marc Buch, and of Pineda de Mar (Maresme), Xavier Amor, have once again joined forces to demand that the Generalitat improve the motorway exit and the connection with the N-II. Both have signed a letter sent to the Generalitat Regional Minister, Juli Fernández, demanding urgent measures, such as the lighting of this section to reinforce its security. A reaction that arose after the fatal accident caused by a wild boar.

Both mayors explained that the motorway exit area registers an avoidable accident rate with the adoption of quick and urgent measures. In addition to more effective signage and lighting that is currently non-existent, Buch and Amor maintain that it is very important that the perimeter closures of the motorway and its exit be reviewed to avoid accidents with hunting fauna.

Recently, a fatal accident occurred involving a resident of Mataró, a professor at the INS Joan Coromines de Pineda de Mar, who collided head-on with a group of wild boars.

It is not the first time that both mayors collaborate on issues related to their two municipalities. A few months ago they also met to set the conditions to coordinate on security. The mayor of Calella, Marc Buch, emphasized the desire for collaboration between the two municipalities: "we have a problem on the table and that is why we are making this joint claim".
