Borràs accuses Aragonès of breaking independence with a new tripartite

The three-way agreement to approve the budgets of the Generalitat for 2023 with Esquerra Republicana, PSC and En Comú Podem as protagonists has provided ammunition to the rest of the political formations to evoke the tripartites of the first decade of this century.

In this sense, the president of Junts per Catalunya, Laura Borràs, has accused this Sunday the president Pere Aragonès - who assures in an interview with the newspaper Ara that "a tripartite with the PSC does not have any type of viability" because the socialists deny the right to decide – to “break the unity of the independence movement by agreeing on some budgets with the State”.

Likewise, Borràs considers that it is evident that a new "present tripartite" of the Republicans, the Socialists is already underway, as is "evidenced" with the budget agreements in Congress, in Catalonia and in the Barcelona City Council. The leader of JxCat has spoken in these terms during her visit to the Fira de la Candelera in Molins de Rei (Baix Llobregat).

The suspended president of Parliament has also reproached her former partners in the Catalan Executive for having, in her opinion, a "short-sighted attitude." “We are responsible. But the one who has broken the agreements and has not fulfilled commitments is the Government, which began a path towards independence, but is turning to a complacent autonomy", said the leader, who warns that "they will not find Junts there".

In addition, the president of Junts believes "foreseeable" that her party presents an amendment to the entirety and opposes the draft accounts in the parliamentary process, although the party executive has not yet made a decision on the matter. The CUP, for its part, has already announced that it will present it in an interview with its parliamentary spokesperson, Eulàlia Reguant, with ElNacional.cat. "We propose an amendment to the Government's policies," says the deputy.

In the same town as Borràs, the president of ERC, Oriol Junqueras, later spoke to the media, insisting on asking JxCat to join the majority that will support the Catalan budget project. "It is so good for the country that even the PSC has decided to vote" in favor, Junqueras argued.

“We take this opportunity to call on all democrats, self-determinists and pro-independence supporters to join this agreement, which is good for Catalonia. Everyone should help and approve them ”, continued the leader of Esquerra, who has once again exhibited the support of the social agents for the accounts project.

Regarding a possible amendment to all the accounts by the CUP and Junts, he responded that the ERC will respect the decisions made by any party, and insisted: "If they decide to support these Budgets, which are so good, We will always welcome you with open arms."

For his part, the leader of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has vindicated in an act in Cerdanyola del Vallès together with the mayor of the town, Carlos Cordón, and the mayoress of Sabadell, Marta Farrés, the pact that they have sealed with the Catalan Executive, which, in his opinion, shows that the Socialists can carry out "useful politics" and even "govern" from the opposition, with the aim of "uniting" the Catalans.

"It has been difficult, because we have been demanding. We have set minimum conditions to move from the inertia of the last ten years to action, to put Catalonia on track and once again it can be admired," said the head of the opposition in the Parlmaent, which has also claimed that "useful politics can be carried out from the opposition" and the "demonstration" of this is the budget pact. "That is not giving up being an alternative. Socialists are determined to build an alternative to a weak government."

An idea along the lines of an interview with El Periódico published today, in which Illa has defended that the PSC carries out "useful politics" even "trying to govern from the opposition"; and although he is "willing to extend his hand" for more pacts, he has denied that there could be a hypothetical tripartite government.
