Benidorm hotels rule out last-minute offers to reward the most farsighted

Benidorm already has 87% of its hotel rooms reserved for the next bank holiday and this weekend -April 22 and 23- it will exceed 91%. With such forecast, and thanks to data analysis, in the sector they take for granted the "technical full" without the need to lower prices. Hoteliers choose not to reward last-minute reservations, but rather those who are more far-sighted.

This is how the president of the Hosbec employers' association, Fede Fuster, explains it: “This year there will be no offers. Only the most far-sighted clients in their reservations will be the ones with the best conditions because the reservations come with force”.

And it is that, after the instability that a late Imserso program and the behavior of the British public have sown in the winter season, the high tourist season begins very positive figures in Benidorm and the Costa Blanca, which are preparing to have an upcoming weekend week almost bordering on full.

According to Biontrend data, the May 1 and 2 bridge (which is a holiday in the important issuing market of the Community of Madrid) hotel reservations already exceed 87% in Benidorm and 80% on the Costa Blanca. So it is assumed that last minute reservations will lead to hanging the "no rooms" in many cases.

Fuster explains that "this year there will be no last-minute offers because advance booking is being important and technological tools allow us to refine a lot to know how the market is going to behave without falling into the resource of 'bargains'."

For the president of the hoteliers, “tourists should advance their purchase options as much as possible, because only in this way will they be able to ensure the most advantageous conditions. When a hotel has sold its target, all the offer that is available to reserve will increase its price. This was already the case last summer and all the indicators show us that this 2023 is going to be the same”.

In addition, the weather forecasts, so adverse for agriculture, are nevertheless the ones that attract the most travelers to all the destinations in the Valencian Community, which in the coming days will register the highest occupancy figures of the year.

Biontrend is the Bigdata technological platform that connects the reservation systems of hotel establishments to provide a comprehensive control panel of reservation forecasts 365 days ahead, a tool designed and executed by Hosbec and financed through Turisme Comunitat Valenciana.

More than 100 hotels are already connected to this tourism intelligence system (only connected companies can access their results), and its predictions and analysis of variables such as price, sales channel, countries of origin, comparisons, etc. are what facilitate the hotel management and make it possible to predict, for example, when it is not necessary to lower prices to fill the establishments.
