Barça wins another year of profits thanks to the leverage of television rights

FC Barcelona reports that it closes the 2022-23 financial year with a net profit of 304 million euros after taxes, thirty million more than what was approved in the budget. In this sense, the figures obtained in the area of ​​sponsorships and merchandising stand out. The figure of 200 million euros in sponsorships has practically been reached and merchandising sales in the Barça Stores have amounted to 100 million euros in sales, an absolute record.

Also important is the increase in turnover that has been recorded at Spotify Camp Nou, with 121 million in revenue, where for the first time in the club's history more than 1,000,000 tickets were sold. The board emphasizes that the Camp Nou was the stadium with the highest average attendance in Europe, according to the UEFA report.

There is also a record in the matches of the women's soccer team with 2.7 million - they played games at the Camp Nou - and in the basketball section: with 4.5 million entered.

During the 2022-23 season, Barcelona generated a record number of new sponsorships in a season, reaching €97.6 million, thanks to the incorporation of 20 new sponsors, including Spotify, Bimbo, Whitebit or the renewal with ScotiaBank and Stanley, among others.

In the statement, the Blaugrana club explains that women's football generates 7.8 million.

Looking ahead to the 23-24 financial year, six new sponsorships have already been signed for a value of 36 million.

With these results, Barcelona has managed to reduce the net debt of the Blaugrana club for the second consecutive season, going from 680 million as of June 30, 2021 to the current 552 million euros as of June 30, 2023.
