Banyoles, reflections in a purple pond

Banyoles is always a magical place. In the afternoon I wanted to capture the landscape and fauna of the Pla de l'Estany pond, as can be seen in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia, where, in one of the images, we see the reflection of the purple clouds above the lake water.

Apart from the traditional ducks, there are specimens of chickens and storks that have already settled in their nests. I suppose that with an increasingly mild climate and abundance of water in Banyoles they are comfortable.

The sunset, although not spectacular, was red and with reflections in the water of the Estany, as we can see. The popular fishing spots also stand out.

The fishing boats date back to the 19th and 20th centuries and are located on the eastern shore of the lake. They are constructions, all of them unique. Each one has its personal charm. At first they were very simple wooden buildings, small in size, closed with a fence and that went into the lake through a walkway to be able to fish.

Later, some became more sophisticated, as a sign of social reaffirmation of the owners. Currently they are for private use, although they are declared Cultural Asset of National Interest. The City Council prohibited new construction in 1931.

The Banyoles pond is a place to always visit throughout the year, since the landscape is never the same and always fascinates us.
