Banco Santander launches the SME of the Year 2023 Awards in Barcelona, ​​Girona and Tarragona

Banco Santander announces the seventh edition of the Barcelona SME of the Year, Girona SME of the Year and Tarragona SME of the Year Awards. It does so, as every year, in collaboration with the newspaper La Vanguardia and with the aim of recognizing the work of small and medium-sized companies as generators of wealth and job creators in the performance of their daily work. In the case of Tarragona, they do so through the Chambers of Commerce of Reus, Tarragona and Valls, as well as the Chamber of Spain.

The nomination period for the SME of the Year 2023 award begins on March 1 and will close at 8:00 p.m. on April 14. This new call can be attended by all small and medium-sized companies in the three provinces with less than 250 employees and with a turnover of less than 50 million euros at the end of the 2022 financial year.

In addition to choosing the SME of the Year, the jury may award four second prizes in each of the demarcations, in the categories of Internationalization, innovation and digitization, Training and employment, and sustainable SME. The winning companies will compete for the 2023 National SME of the Year Award, which will be awarded in the first quarter of 2024. Likewise, those that win any of the different second prizes will compete for the National Award in their respective categories.

Interested companies must fill out the registration form that they will find on the website of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, where they can also consult the contest rules. The jury will value in its deliberations merits such as job creation, with special attention to permanent employment; training actions for employees; The internationalization of the company; digitization and innovation initiatives, as well as sustainable projects in which they have participated.

The SME of the Year Award is consolidated with this seventh edition as the reference award for small and medium-sized Spanish companies. Last year a total of 1,766 companies from the 50 provinces and the Autonomous City of Ceuta registered.
