The Civil Guard has detained at least 10 people in the macro operation carried out in sixteen homes in the municipalities of Vendrell, Calafell, Creixell, Cunit, Torredembarra, Roda de Berà, Albinyana and Altafulla, in Tarragonès and Baix Penedès.
Those arrested are allegedly part of an Albanian criminal group, sources from the investigation have confirmed. The searches began around 5 in the morning on Wednesday, April 26, and have been carried out simultaneously.
In the operation, which is still underway, several marijuana plantations have been dismantled. In addition, some 200 agents of the Civil Guard of the local police have intervened, as well as the special group of assaults and a helicopter.
