Alexia, the rebellious princess of the Netherlands, turns 18: this was her father's gift

Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, second daughter of Kings Willem-Alexander and Máxima, has released three official portraits on Monday when she comes of age. The snapshots, published by the Koninklijk Huis (the royal house of the Netherlands), have been taken by the renowned portrait painter Frank Ruiter, who has already photographed different members of the family in designated appointments, at the Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague. , the official residence of Alexia's parents.

The princess has also received three gifts in the form of institutional recognition from her father. The King of the Netherlands has awarded her the Grand Cross of the Order of the Dutch Lion, made her a Dame of the Order of the Golden Lion of Nassau, and from now on the princess will also be able to wear her own royal banner, although she will share it with her older sister, Princess Amalia, and her younger sister, Princess Ariana, when she comes of age.

Alexia, nicknamed Máxima's rebellious daughter, is the one who most physically resembles her and in recent years she has attracted attention for her freshness, little shyness and overwhelming personality in front of the cameras. She has starred in controversies due to her flirting with social networks, because, although any young woman of her age can enjoy the networking tour that she most desires, it is not like that for her. A video in which Alexia appeared with a friend with a Flo Milli song in the background that contained words like fuck (fuck) or nigga (to refer to people of black ethnicity in a derogatory way) went viral on TikTok, and the controversy did not take long to surface.

At the moment it is difficult to predict what Alexia will do when she finishes her studies, since she, unlike her older sister, the heiress, will never receive a public allowance from the government. It is unknown what her next step will be, either she will enter the university in September or, like her sister did, she will take a gap year before starting it. What is clear is that Alexia has a passion for fashion and has already become a benchmark for young style.

During the last two years, she has studied the international baccalaureate at the UWC Atlantic College of Wales, the same one where Princess Eleanor has studied. With her he could have established a friendship since, to the sadness of the Dutch, it is known that Máxima's daughters speak Spanish among themselves. Regarding her birthday celebrations, Máxima revealed that "it won't be a big party since the date, Monday, is not very convenient, but we will organize something during the weekend", collects the Dutch magazine Vorsten.
