Albiach defends Catalan in the face of attacks from the PP and Vox

The candidate of Comuns Sumar for the presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Jéssica Albiach, has bet this Sunday, Sant Jordi's Day, to defend the Catalan language and the language immersion system in schools.

"In the face of the attacks by the PP and Vox on our language and our culture, the best thing we can do is fill the streets and support our cultural industry," he said from the Commons stop, located on Rambla Catalunya in Barcelona and made up of ship containers reminiscent of those that the former mayor of the Catalan capital, Ada Colau, used to build social apartments.

Already this Monday, Albiach proposed allocating 2% of the budget of the Generalitat of Catalonia to promoting culture so that it can be guaranteed that the promotion of Catalan has the necessary resources. "The elections on May 12 are about deciding whether we want to be a country with more Catalan language and culture or one with casinos and inefficient drought management," he remarked in the middle of the electoral pre-campaign.

On the other hand, the Comuns Sumar candidate has once again opted for a "close defense of linguistic immersion" in the face of proposals such as the segregated network and the trilingual model, which she has called "occurrences."

This Thursday two polls were published that warn of a slight decline in his political party in the 12-M. "We do not misread the surveys," Albiach responded when asked about these samples. "They give us good loyalty and direct voting intention," she argued.

For the candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Comuns Sumar is "in a position" to improve results. With them, her goal is to forge a "progressive government, just like the Parliament" in Catalonia.
