Aitor Esteban: "Feijóo has crossed a red line and has shown that he is not moderate"

The agreement of the PP with Vox to govern the Valencian Community and the prospect that this alliance is going to be generalized throughout the Spanish geography represent a turning point in the opinion of the PNV. The jeltzale spokesman in the Congress of Deputies, Aitor Esteban, has indicated that Alberto Núñez Feijóo "has crossed a red line" with this pact, "demonstrating that he is not moderate" and contributing to "normalizing the extreme right".

The number one of the PNV for Bizkaia on the lists for Congress has made these statements in an interview on ETB's Egun On Euskadi program, where he has reiterated that the presence of Vox prevents any understanding between the jeltzales and the PP, although it has not closed definitely the door to future agreements if their support served so that Vox does not govern in Spain.

In any case, Esteban has been pessimistic regarding the relationship between the PP and those of Abascal, which from his point of view will go further. “Feijóo is not afraid to agree with Vox. He has perceived the feeling that Spanish society is on his side and that this no longer means electoral damage. In the end, he has done what has been avoided in other European states: put the ultra-right in the political game, in the governments and normalize it. And that is, in my opinion, unacceptable ”, he has indicated.

From his point of view, these pacts will be generalized once the popular leader has blessed the pact in the Valencian Community: "Until now there was the pact of Castilla y León, but Feijóo could have said that it had been around for a very short time and that it was not your responsibility. Now yes, he has given his approval to this agreement ”.

“He has crossed a red line and has shown that he is not moderate. It will act in the same or similar way wherever they have the possibility of governing together. The extreme right is normalizing, it is becoming more normal to enter this game with Vox, something that other European countries have avoided ”, he pointed out.

Aitro Esteban, however, has also thrown a dart at the PSOE, pointing out that "he had the possibility of allowing them to govern, to avoid that subordination to Vox." "But it doesn't suit the PSOE either because the two parties are going to clash," he indicated.
