Abrines is a doubt for the Euroleague playoff and Barça is optimistic with Vesely and Higgins

Of the three players who left the court early with injuries on Sunday against Real Madrid, the case that caused the most concern at Barça was that of Álex Abrines. The Spaniard sprained his ankle in an action with Abalde and Musa, and left visibly in pain and limping, even having to lean on two teammates.

The medical services of the Barcelona club have subjected him on Monday afternoon to the pertinent medical tests, which have not revealed any major injury, confirming the initial prognosis of a sprain in the left foot. A result that has been a relief at the Palau.

The official medical report rules out Abrines for the next Endesa League match, in which Barça will face Covirán Granada this coming Wednesday, but it does not go any further. It should be remembered that before the start of the Euroleague playoffs against Zalgiris, with the first game scheduled for Wednesday the 26th, the Catalan team will receive Gran Canaria at the Palau on Saturday. An appointment in which the Mallorcan forward will not be present either, who will be a doubt until the last moment for the European duels depending on how his recovery evolves. In the club they do not rule out their participation and, in fact, they are working on that objective.

With regard to the other two victims of the classic, Cory Higgins and Jan Vesely, optimism reigns in the club, always thinking about the match against Zalgiris in the Euroleague, the main concern of Sarunas Jasikevicius at the moment.

Higgins has been dealing with back problems for several months and the low back pain diagnosed in the first quarter against Real Madrid was not a surprise. It is hoped that with a bit of rest, the Californian can be in the game next week, although he is always weighed down by those problems that he has not just gotten rid of.

Lastly, Jan Vesely noticed a problem with his left knee and decided not to go out on the track again, more as a precaution than for anything else. In fact, the player himself was calm with his surroundings after the game and it is expected that Jasikevicius can count on him against Zalgiris.
