A woman died this Saturday in the fire of a single-family house on Oran street in La Pobla de Segur (Lleida), as reported by the Generalitat Firefighters.
The notice was received around 9:11 a.m. and the firefighters have activated seven crews, a ladder truck, three water trucks, two command and coordination vehicles and another light vehicle.
When they arrived at the scene of the incident, the police officers verified how the fire was confined to the bathroom on the first floor, a place where they entered to extinguish the flames and search for possible victims.
They have located a woman inside the house and her rescue has begun, with three units of the Emergency Medical Services (SEM), including a helicopter, traveling to the scene.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers have been performed on the victim without success. At 10:17 a.m. the fire was extinguished, and the Mossos d'Esquadra took charge of the investigation.
