A 45-year-old woman has rushed with her five-year-old daughter in her arms from the fifth floor of a building located on Avenida de Los Telares in Avilés, which has forced both of them to be admitted to hospitals in the city and Oviedo, sources from the National Police have informed EFE.
The girl has been admitted to the University Hospital of San Agustín de Avilés (HUSA) and her condition is critical, according to some sources to Europa Press, while the mother has had to be transferred to the Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), in Oviedo with serious injuries.
The event, which took place at 10:20 a.m., is being investigated by agents of the scientific and judicial police.
In addition, the minor's maternal grandmother, who lives on another floor in the same block, has tried to take her own life by cutting her veins when she found out what had happened.
