As police sources have informed EFE, the Mossos learned on Thursday night that a fight had broken out in the Les Corts district of Barcelona due to a traffic argument between a motorcyclist and the taxi driver, who was taken to a hospital center in critical condition.
That same night, agents from the Citizen Security Unit of the Les Corts de los Mossos police station arrested the driver of the motorcycle, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of injuries, for which he was released on Saturday after being brought to justice.
Once this Sunday the death of the taxi driver was confirmed, the Mossos reported this to the court, according to sources.
"Carlos's life was taken from him when he was on duty and a bastard attacked him over a traffic argument," Elite Taxi denounced in a statement. In the note, Élite Taxi, to which the deceased taxi driver was associated, has announced that he will put his legal office to work starting Monday so that the aggressor's sentence is "the highest possible."
