A perfect alibi. The position of the protagonist of this story, responsible for an evangelical church in Madrid, opened the door to the homes of families with young children. His victims lived there: the children of his parishioners.
He ate and dined with his parents, who were very calm when the religious was left alone or in charge of those minors, whom he also entertained with gifts. But nothing was what it seemed. Now it has become known that this religious man, called Juan Francisco, took advantage of the parents' blind trust in him to allegedly abuse children.
The National Police and a court in Alcorcón are investigating, El Confidencial reports, this new case of sexual assault in an ecclesiastical environment. At least 5 victims are already counted and it is not ruled out that there may be more. Everything was discovered when a boy who was only 7 years old told his mother that this religious man had performed five fellatios on him and that on one occasion she tried to penetrate him.
The facts were uncovered last October, although until now they had not emerged. The accused, released on charges and prohibited from approaching the children who have reported him, worked at the Fuente de Vida church, located in the municipality of Móstoles. The majority of parishioners who go to that temple are originally from Honduras.
Juan Francisco regularly visited the home of the family that filed the first complaint. His parents could not believe the hell the boy had experienced when he told his mother, according to the same information, that Father Fran touched him. “He sucked my penis,” the minor said between sobs.
The mother did not wait a second and went to the nearest police station to report the facts and pointed out a culprit: the religious “Fran.” The man was arrested and only after starting the investigation did more cases begin to appear.
All with the same “modus operandi”. The person in charge of that evangelical church first gained the trust of the children's parents and then, when she was alone with them, he allegedly committed the sexual assaults. And always with a reward for the minors, to whom he gave gifts.
One of those alleged victims has claimed that Fran had promised him, through Instagram, that he would give him a Play Station 5 if he sent her intimate photos by phone. And 50 euros if she let herself do “different things.” The minor who uncovered the case also commented to his mother that “Fran was gay.”
It is surprising that these children already have mobile phones at this young age. Although now these devices have become one of the main pieces of evidence against the religious to prove the facts reported by the minors.
The mother of the boy who filed the first complaint claims that the religious had sent photographs to her son, although these have been deleted when they were sent with an application that only allows them to be viewed once.
The accused would have taken advantage of the visits made to the homes of these minors to commit the alleged sexual assaults when he was left alone with them, which he often achieved by not arousing any suspicion.
It is also being investigated whether some of these violations could have been committed in the same church, since the parents used to leave their children in the company of this man in a room, while they attended religious services.
Another of the complaining mothers reported that in the case of her son, the gifts from the religious to gain the minor's trust were a Barça t-shirt and a table football. In this case, Father Fran insisted, collecting the same information, to take the child one weekend to a swimming pool in Arroyomolinos. The family rejected that invitation, because at that moment they suspected that such trust and kindness were more than normal, something suspicious.
