A new forest fire forces the evacuation of an urbanization in Genovés (Valencia)

Aerial and ground means are working at this time to extinguish a forest fire declared this morning in a mountain area of the Valencian municipality of Genovés, a fire that has forced the preventive eviction of some 50 residents of the nearby urbanization of Pino Grande.

As reported by Emergencies, the fire, in a "continuous forest area", was reported at around 3:00 in the morning, and two fire trucks and two forestry units from the Generalitat worked at the site overnight, in addition to 5 vehicles from the Provincial Consortium of Valencia and an environmental agent.

At around 4:57 a.m., the Emergency Coordination Center has established emergency situation 1, or potential severity index 1, of the Special Plan against Forest Fires due to "possible impact on non-forest assets", that is, homes , due to the proximity in this case of "scattered houses".

Given the evolution of the flames, at 7.00 two air means have been mobilized and, "preventively", they have proceeded to evacuate the Pino Grande urbanization.

At this time, up to four air resources from the Generalitat, 4 units of forest firefighters and another 9 crews are working on the ground, as well as a coordinator and technician, from the Provincial Consortium, as reported by the latter.

The pre-emergency level due to the risk of forest fires is today extreme in the northern interior of Castellón and in the interior of Valencia, and high on the coasts of Castellón, Valencia and the north of Alicante.
