The Ciutadella of Knowledge continues to take shape with the agreement with the Ministry of Science and Innovation that was signed this Thursday, which allows two research institutes in the field of health to be located on Doctor Trueta Street. The space dedicated to the Higher Council for Scientific Research will be almost 13,000 square meters, with space for 300 people and up to 40 work groups.
A transformation underway
The scientific and urban project in the Ciutadella park is advancing, with actions underway inside and outside the park. The rehabilitation of the Greenhouse and the Martorell Museum will be completed this year. The Umbraculo will be rehabilitated in 2024 and the façade of the Three Dragons building in 2025. In addition, the works on the new Mercat del Peix research complex are expected to be completed in 2026. They will equip the Pompeu Fabra University campus of three new buildings and three strategic partners participate: the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology, the Higher Council for Scientific Research and the Pompeu Fabra University.
