A terrible parricide attempt has splashed this afternoon in the town of Fitero, in the Ribera de Navarra. A mother has allegedly tried to kill her three children, ages 3, 5 and 9, in this municipality, as reported by the Civil Guard. Minors have been injured and have been hospitalized. One of them, the youngest, is in very serious condition, receiving medical assistance at the University Hospital of Navarra, in Pamplona, while his brothers are at the Reina Sofía hospital in Tudela.
The Civil Guard learned of the case around 12:00 noon, when the two eldest children, ages 5 and 9, went out into the street asking for help and the neighbors alerted agents of the armed institute.
The agents have entered the home with the two children and have found the mother and the youngest son, 3 years old, seriously injured.
As reported by the Civil Guard, everything points to an attempted murder by his mother. The woman would have tried to poison them and she would have also attacked them with a knife, according to sources of the investigation. The minors would have suffered several cuts as a result of their mother's attacks.
Agents of the Judicial Police Team of the Foral Community are investigating these facts.
According to sources of the investigation, the woman would have attempted suicide after the parricide attempt. At the moment, her mother is also hospitalized in police custody, once she has been arrested.
