The National Police have arrested a man in his 50s in the municipality of Manacor (Mallorca) as a suspect in the death of his mother and brother on an agricultural property in the municipality. The detainee had tried to set fire to the house where the three relatives lived and the flames spread to a grove of trees in the vicinity of the home.

This fire in the countryside put neighbors on alert, who called 112 services to notify this event. The Police report that a team of firefighters went to the scene of the fire and, when the extinguishing efforts began, they discovered a body affected by the flames, which raised all the alarms. It was at that moment when the firefighters called the Police to announce this discovery.

The Local Police of Manacor immediately went to the property and confirmed the presence of a body, so they transferred it to the National Police. Several agents appeared at the property and detained the 50-year-old man, who was still there. Shortly after, a second body was discovered inside the house that the detainee had tried to burn, which has been transferred to the Psychiatry area of ​​the Manacor Hospital.

The agents are now investigating what could have caused this event that ended with the death of the detainee's mother and brother. The fact that the detainee has been admitted to the hospital indicates that he has mental health problems, which could have been the cause of this event. The police are currently combing both the agricultural property and the house where the two bodies were found in search of evidence. The causes of death of the two deceased are now unknown.
