A hunting dog kills its owner by accidentally pulling the trigger of his shotgun

Fatal accident in Turkey. This past weekend, a dog killed its owner, a 32-year-old man, when the two of them, along with other friends, were returning from a hunting trip on the Kizlan plateau, in Samsun, in the north of the country, touching the Black Sea.

Specifically, and according to several local media reports such as Takvim, the dog would have accidentally fired the hunter's shotgun by squeezing the trigger with his paw when he jumped into the trunk of his vehicle. The event occurred when the victim and his hunting companions were already packing the material in their cars before ending the day.

The victim, Ozgur Gevrekoglu, 32, was hit in the stomach by a bullet and was immediately transferred to the Alaçam State Hospital, although the medics could not save his life. Local media also report that the deceased man had been a father just 10 days ago.

The local media add that despite the fact that the main hypothesis is that of the accident with the dog, the police continue to investigate the event. In fact, according to the Turkish agency Anadolu, the security forces initially detained one of the friends who was part of the hunting group, 38 years old and who has not been identified, although he was later released.
