A drone transport company from Palma, pointed out by the US for collaborating with Putin

The United States has included in its list of sanctioned companies an airline based in Palma for sending combat drones to attack Ukraine. The US State Department maintains that the company I JET transported this material from Iran to Russia, from where the drones left for Ukraine to attack Ukrainian enclaves.

The company is also suspected of collaborating with another company already sanctioned by the United States, Cham Win Airlines, according to a statement from the US State Department. This second airline participated years ago in the transport of Russian troops to the front lines of the war in Syria. IJet is believed to have used its branch in Syria to collaborate with the Putin government.

The airline's headquarters are in Dubai, but it maintains offices in Damascus, Malta and Palma, although everything indicates that the offices in the Balearic capital are inoperative since the building, in the heart of Palma, is under construction and in the The sign with the name of the company does not appear on the façade, although there once was one. It is not ruled out that it is a shell company that has been inactive for all this time.

In any case, the inclusion of IJjet in the list of companies collaborating with the Putin regime may lead to sanctions, in addition to the confiscation of all assets, something that in the case of the Palma offices seems unlikely. The United States has already confiscated assets of Russian oligarchs in Mallorca for their collaboration with Putin.

The measures have affected the tycoon Víktor Vekselberg. His yacht valued at more than 100 million euros was confiscated after FBI agents searched the vessel. The yacht remained guarded by the Civil Guard and agents from the United States Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) participated in the search.

The yacht was immobilized in Palma, but the magnate's lawyers maintain that the entire operation is illegal since the United States did not have the power to intervene in the yacht since there was no previous action against the magnate in that country.

The Civil Guard also sealed off the Lady Anastasia, owned by the Russian oligarch Alexandre Mijeev, with companies linked to arms trafficking. She is the same boat that a member of the crew, of Ukrainian origin, tried to sink months before, in revenge for the Russian invasion of his country. The man fled Spain and enlisted as a volunteer in the Ukrainian army.
