89.7% of Spaniards consider that more measures should be taken against gender violence

The CIS includes in its February barometer a reference to the Sexual Integrity Guarantee Law, popularly known as the “only yes is yes law” and only 8% consider that it should be modified. However, another larger group of respondents, 19%, says that it is necessary to toughen the penalties so that they are more severe.

In light of the barometer, 92.8 percent of the Spanish population considers that gender violence is a worrisome problem and 89.7% believe that more measures must be taken against this scourge.

The survey for this month of February also asks which parties are considered more committed to equal rights between men and women and concludes that Unidas Podemos is the party that is doing the most for this cause and places the PSOE in second place. PP and especially Vox are the ones with the least initiative in this field.

In the survey, he also asks about the usefulness of feminist mobilizations such as the one on March 8 and the majority, 45 percent, consider that these demonstrations serve a lot or quite a lot, while 48% believe instead that they serve little or nothing to strengthen claims on freedoms and rights of equality.
