The Huesca Civil Guard has carried out a total of 16 rescues in the Huesca Pyrenees during the last days of Easter 2023, between Thursday and this Sunday. Among the operations carried out by the meritorious, the recovery of a dog that had gone astray and that they ended up taking out of a mountainous area thanks to a helicopter.

At around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, three hikers informed the Civil Guard that the dog that accompanied them on their route had been lost. These three people and the dog were on a mountain tour on the way up to the Ibones de Ip, in the municipality of Canfranc, along the path called La Besera.

As reported by the security body, at one point, the dog got lost, so one of the hikers had gone to look for it. Two hours later, not knowing anything about the animal, he called 062.

The dog was carrying a GPS locator, which facilitated its location. The rescuers, who were located in a nearby area, came and after receiving the coordinates of the animal's device, it was located on a vertical wall that runs towards the ravine, on a small ledge of snow.

At the time of the rescue, a member of the meritorious team can be seen descending from the helicopter to the vertical wall of the ravine. Later, she secures the dog, scared at first, and they both go up to the interior of the aircraft.

During the last days of Holy Week 2023, between Thursday and this Sunday, the Civil Guard carried out up to 16 rescues in the Huesca Prineo. Most of the actions have consisted of strays and falls with injuries that are not serious.

The last performance of this Holy Week, at 1:15 p.m., consisted of the rescue of a person injured in the Peonera ravine, in Bierge, with a possible broken leg. Specialists from the GREIM of Huesca, the Huesca Air Unit and the 061 doctor have intervened.
