The Aemet warns of the increase in maximum temperatures: the heat wave does not give up

This Thursday the advance of the heat wave continues throughout the country in its fourth day. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued an alert that maximum temperatures will increase moderately, especially in the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean coast and the southeast of the peninsula.

However, in western areas of the peninsula the maximum thermometers will drop slightly. The Aemet indicates that the minimums will collapse by half in the Cantabrian Sea and the Alto Ebro as an exception, while the rest will suffer a rise in both average and minimum temperatures.

Castilla-La Mancha, the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community are under red warning (extreme risk) due to high temperatures, Andalusia, Aragón, Catalonia and the Community of Madrid under orange for and the Balearic Islands, Castilla y León and Extremadura under yellow, according to Aemet warns.

Precipitation is ruled out in practically the entire territory and there will be clear skies, although there will be intervals of clouds in the north of the peninsula and the Canary Islands, as well as in the extreme west of Galicia, where some rain could even be recorded due to the arrival imminent Atlantic front.

Also in the Pyrenees there can be some weak showers in the afternoon, with cloudiness in the eastern third of the peninsula and the possibility of some dry storms, this also being the exception since the rest of the peninsula will be under completely clear skies.

The haze will be present in the Canary Islands and the southern third of the peninsula and there is a probability of coastal fog on the Galician Atlantic coast, the Atlantic coasts of Cádiz, Estrecho and Alborán.

The Canary Islands are preparing for the arrival in all its fullness of the heat wave with a progressive rise in temperatures that will affect all the islands and where this Thursday it will already reach 36º.

In addition, Friday and Saturday are expected to be the most powerful days of this heat wave in the archipelago, with peaks of up to 40º.
