The Aemet announces a drop in temperatures in these areas of Spain

Temperatures will continue to drop this Tuesday in almost the entire country, more markedly in the southeastern half of the peninsula, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). For today, frost is expected in the main mountain systems, without ruling out areas of both plateaus.

On the other hand, few changes will be recorded in the maximums, with some decreases in the northeastern third and Levante. They will remain below 15 degrees in most of the territory, except in the Mediterranean communities and in the south, where the cities of Murcia and Malaga will slightly exceed 20 or 22 degrees.

In cities like Soria, Teruel, Logroño, Cuenca or Burgos the minimum temperature will be around 0 degrees; Madrid capital will wake up with 2 degrees and on the coast, Valencia or Barcelona will drop to 8 or 9 degrees at night.

The snow level will be between 1,200 and 1,500 meters in the mountains of the extreme north of the peninsula, with possible accumulations of up to five centimeters in the western Cantabrian Mountains with low probability and 1,400-1,600 meters in the Central and eastern Iberian system.

In addition, a front will affect the north of the peninsula and leave cloudy or overcast skies, with precipitation that will affect Galicia, the Cantabrian region and the northwest of Castilla y León, and possibly in other areas, most likely in the mountains. The rains will be more intense in coastal areas, where they could be accompanied by occasional storms.

According to the Aemet forecast, in the rest of the Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, slightly cloudy skies will predominate, except in the southeastern third and the extreme northeast where there will be cloudy intervals in the afternoon. Some scattered precipitation is also not ruled out in mountain areas and in the northeast of Catalonia.

Temperatures will recover starting Thursday, according to the agency. Starting on Friday and the weekend, generally stable weather will prevail with rains once again limited to the northwest of the peninsula and with values that will tend to rise, although some weak frosts could be recorded in mountain and plateau areas.
