The change of weather in Spain looms with irrefutable certainty, as Mario Picazo has warned. With the arrival of the post-Christmas days, Picazo has anticipated a drastic change in the country's meteorological conditions, which will mark the end of unusual atmospheric stability. Therefore, he will say goodbye to the tranquility of the anticyclone to welcome a more characteristic winter, in which cold and frost become the main protagonists of this change.
Picazo's words are clear: "After Christmas Day it seems that the weather will change in many areas of Spain with the arrival of new Atlantic fronts fed by an atmospheric river of subtropical origin." This forecast points to a notable evolution, which will begin with showers in Galicia in the middle of the week and will progressively extend over the weekend and the following week. This atmospheric river, which is emerging as a crucial factor, will replace stability and sunlight with a series of important changes throughout the country.
Picazo has advanced in detail what is to come: "After several days of truce, rain and snow return to the meteorological panorama." The first round of this change will mainly affect the northwest of the peninsula, although it will spread timidly towards the center and east. Galicia, in particular, will face heavy rains, while fog will be persistent in some inland areas.
Picazo's forecasts for the end of the year are equally forceful: active fronts will bring precipitation mainly to the northwest and north of the peninsula, extending to the south and east over time. Thus, he has warned of the possibility of taking out umbrellas between New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve, predicting a rainy and probably cold end to the year.
