Therefore, in this new edition of the SOS-sustainability conference cycle organized by La Vanguardia, we want to give a voice to those people who make less aggressive policies with the environment possible. This is the case of Sandrine Dixson-Declève, a thought leader in climate change, sustainable development and complex systems at an international level.
Currently, she presides over the Rome club, making her the first woman to lead this organization in its history. Throughout her career, she has played a key role in policy-making, strategy and business leadership in Europe and the rest of the world.
The Club of Rome is a laboratory of ideas founded in Rome in 1968. It brings together a hundred scientists, economists, former politicians and industrialists from 52 countries concerned about the complex problems facing the world.
From this organization, Dixson-Declève analyzes the limits of growth, taking into consideration that the Earth's resources are limited. Under various initiatives such as Planetary Emergency Plan 1:0 and 2:0, TED Countdown and TEDX: The Sustainable Future Series, Earth4All or DLD Conference, they work to accelerate the change of the current system to reach an equitable future on an increasingly finite.
With an enviable career and an exceptional speech, Sandrine Dixson-Declève will be with us to explain the future challenges that, together, we must undertake to achieve fair goals and leadership in sustainability.
Sandrine is a teacher, writer and disseminator, she has been one of the promoters of the publication Planetary Emergency Plan. She recently published the book Earth for All: A Survival Guide for Humanity, where she defines the five steps to begin transforming the system by 2050. She was also a facilitator of the Action on Forests and Land Use working group, at UN COP'26
