The National Geographic Institute has already given the expected dates to witness the greatest spectacle in the skies that we will be able to see this summer, when different types of meteors and elements will leave a beautiful trail to contemplate from Earth.
As reported by IGN researchers, the Delta Aquarids meteor shower will take place between July 12 and August 23, reaching its maximum around July 30, when it can be seen especially well.
As the experts recall, "the Delta Aquarid meteors are best observed in the southern hemisphere because their radiant is higher in the sky", although they also ensure that in the northern hemisphere it is possible to see them with less activity.
In order to see the Delta Aquarids, any observation place that provides a dark sky and preferably without obstacles to sight, such as buildings, trees or mountains, is useful, in addition to eliminating those optical instruments that make it difficult for us to see.
The truth is that the meteor shower can come from anywhere in the sky, so the most comfortable thing to do is direct your gaze towards the darkest areas, in the opposite direction to the position of the Moon when it is present and wait a long time, adapting your eyes to the night sky.
For their part, NASA recommends "looking halfway between the horizon and the zenith" and observing the sky "at 45 degrees from the constellation of Aquarius", although always keeping in mind that we must first accustom our eyes to this scenario.
